Their latest victory, courtesy of Ackim Mumba’s 21st-minute strike, has propelled the Arrows to a commanding 12-point lead at the summit of the table.
Meanwhile, second-placed Zesco United faltered as they were held to a goalless draw by Nkana in Wusakile, Kitwe.
With just four matches left in the season, Red Arrows comfortably lead the league with 64 points, leaving Zesco trailing behind with 52. This positions Chisi Mbewe’s side tantalizingly close to securing their second league title in three seasons.
Although Zesco technically retain a slim chance of clinching the title, it would necessitate a miraculous turn of events.
Their only hope lies in winning all remaining matches while hoping for Red Arrows to suffer defeats in each of theirs. Even then, both teams would be tied on 64 points, with Red Arrows currently enjoying a 16-goal advantage in goal difference.
However, a mere draw in their next fixture would suffice for Red Arrows to seal the championship. Even a loss might not derail their title hopes if Zesco also stumble.
This scenario spells disappointment for Kansanshi, who languish in the relegation zone with a meager 29 points.
Elsewhere, Forest Rangers and Konkola Blades settled for a goalless stalemate, while Napsa Stars clinched a 1-0 victory over Green Eagles courtesy of Vinicent Oburu’s decisive goal.
