The Kariba North Bank Extension Power Corporation (KNBEPC) has commenced works for its 100MW solar PV project in Chisamba.
According to information released by ZESCO, the contractor, Sinohydro, has completed the primary clearing of 106 hectares of land and is progressing with secondary clearing and ground leveling.
Environmental approval for the construction of the project has been obtained and all the designs finalized.
The project is situated strategically along the country’s central corridor and is expected to strengthen the region’s power infrastructure.
KNBPEC is a subsidiary of ZESCO.
