The Ministry of Health has dispelled what it has called a fake alert of an alleged typhoid outbreak in Lusaka.
According to a statement issued yesterday , June 19, the ministry has undertaken thorough investigations and reviewed laboratory surveillance trends leading to its determination that the supposed outbreak of the disease is not true.
“The Ministry of Health through its disease intelligence and surveillance system remains alert to any public health threat. These systems are designed to promptly detect any infectious diseases including typhoid, ensuring that quick response measures are implemented.”
The public has been urged to refrain from spreading unverified information that can cause unnecessary panic as accurate information will always be communicated through the official channels.
