Local contractors who are underperforming on their infrastructure contracts will be terminated, Kaputa Member of Parliament Elvis Nkandu has warned.
Nkandu, who is also the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Art, has been inspecting infrastructure projects in his constituency.
He said local contractors sabotaging the government’s plans and efforts to improve the lives of Zambians will not be condoned.
He derided the attitude and conduct of some local contractors hampering the quality and delivery of projects.
Nkandu expressed disappointment that while the government wanted to empower local contractors, they [contractors] had continued to do shoddy work and delay the completion of projects.
