Déjà vu: Chipolopolo to Make Abidjan First Stop in 2025 AFCON Qualifiers

Must read

The Zambia senior men’s national football team will once again start its qualification campaign for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, taking on the reigning African champions in a crunch Group G encounter.

Yesterday, CAF released the fixture line-up and schedule for the Morocco 2025 AFCON qualifiers with the Chipolopolo once again paired against familiar opponent, Ivory Coast, in its opening group match on September 2.

It will be déjà vu for the Chipolopolo who played the same fixture on June 3, 2022, in its 2023 AFCON qualifiers and lost the match 3-1 at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium.

After Ivory Coast, Chipolopolo will host Sierra Leone on 10 September before going head-to-head with Chad in back-to-back meetings set for October 7 and 15.

Zambia’s final Group G match will be a 360-degrees clash at home against the Elephants of Ivory Coast on November 11.
