A 28-year-old man of Foxdale-Kasisi in Lusaka has been crushed to death by a block making machine he was cleaning.
The incident happened yesterday around 10:30 hours at Seybor Block Making Factory in Meanwood Kwamwena area.
Movin Tembo, employed as a general worker at the factory, had started cleaning the machine during a period of power outage, according to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale.
Tragically, as the electricity supply was unexpectedly restored, the machine was activated and tragically crushed Tembo who was inside.
Following the distressing event, police and fire brigade officers were called to the scene to extract the remains of the deceased from the machine.
The body has since been taken to the University Teaching Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Mr. Mwale said investigations into this tragic incident are ongoing.
