Zambia national team midfielder Kings Kangwa says he is excited about his move to Israeli club Hapoel Be’er Sheva from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade.
Be’er Sheva confirmed the re-signing of the 25-year-old midfielder, who returned to the club yesterday after spending the 2017/18 season with the club’s youth team.
Speaking in an interview with Zambia Digest from his new Israeli base today, Kangwa said he is looking forward to his new stint with Be’er Sheva, where his European adventure started seven years ago.
“I’m excited to return to the club where I played in the past and learned a lot to help me throughout my career. I have great memories of the club and the city,” Kangwa said.
Kangwa added that he is relishing the prospect of playing in front of the Be’er Sheva fans at the Turner Stadium.
“I have played at the Turner Stadium a number of times during my time with the club. The atmosphere was amazing, and I can’t wait to experience it as a player,” he said.
Kangwa has signed a four-year contract with Be’er Sheva from Red Star Belgrade, who sold the Chipolopolo star for a reported transfer fee of €700,000 (K19.6 million).
He will be looking to revive his career in Israel after mixed stints in Belgrade as well as on loan at the Belgian club KV Kortrijk last season.
