The family of late Zambian politician Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe has inaugurated a museum dedicated to his legacy at their family farm in Chinsali District, Muchinga Province. The Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Museum showcases various artifacts, including photographs, published books, personal furniture, and artworks that highlight his life and contributions.
The opening ceremony was attended by Chief Nkula and Chief Nyamphande of the Nsenga people from Petauke District. Chief Nkula praised Kapwepwe as a courageous freedom fighter, patriot, and advocate for good governance and human dignity.
Kapwepwe, who was Zambia’s first Vice President and held several key ministerial roles, is remembered for his commitment to his country. Acting District Commissioner Brenda Silwembe emphasized that the museum will preserve history, celebrate Kapwepwe’s achievements, and inspire future generations.
Chileshe Kapwepwe, the late politician’s daughter, reflected on her father’s principled nature and unwavering values.
