Zambian football legend Rainford Kalaba has returned to Lubumbashi for the first time since miraculously surviving a fatal road accident in April.
On Tuesday, Kalaba made a surprise visit to TP Mazembe chairman Moïse Katumbi at his private residence in Lofoï, Lubumbashi.
During the visit, Kalaba expressed his gratitude to Katumbi for the support both materially and morally during his hospitalization following the tragic road accident in Lusaka.
Kalaba was involved in a road accident last April near Lusaka, resulting in a fatality.
He was rushed to the hospital, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the University Teaching Hospital and astonishingly made a recovery after a few weeks – defying earlier reports that he had died.
Katumbi flew to the Zambian capital to visit Kalaba while he was hospitalized.
