In a dramatic legal clash at the Lusaka High Court, Enoch Kavindele Jr. has filed a lawsuit against his father, former Vice President Enoch Kavindele, over inheritance issues. Enoch Jr., a Lusaka-based photographer, alleges that his father is withholding property documents for three valuable Lusaka properties registered under his late grandmother, Maria Senda Mampata.
The younger Kavindele seeks an order to compel his father to surrender the Certificates of Title for Lot Nos. 7273/M, 7290/M, and 7291/M. He also demands that his father be restrained from interfering with these properties and seeks damages and interest for the inconvenience caused.
Enoch Jr. claims to have been granted Power of Attorney by his grandmother on August 13, 2024, authorizing him to manage and administer these properties. Despite this, he asserts that his father has refused to relinquish the necessary documents, hindering his ability to fulfill his duties and causing significant financial and emotional distress.
