The Zambian government has announced an ambitious plan to fast-track the construction of reinforced concrete roads on key routes nationwide.
Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development Minister Charles Milupi revealed that the initiative will begin with Kitwe’s Chibuluma Road. This announcement was made during the Joint Ministerial Committee Meeting on the Kazungula Bridge Authority in Ndola. Minister Milupi emphasized that the initiative will enhance business opportunities for local cement producers.
The announcement came after Minister Milupi and Botswana’s Minister of Transport and Public Works, Eric Molale, conducted a joint tour of the Dangote Cement Zambia Limited plant in Masaiti district, Copperbelt.
Minister Molale praised the visit, noting the advanced automated systems at one of Africa’s largest cement producers as a significant highlight.
