During a recent press briefing, the Chinese government announced its commitment to help Zambia eliminate load-shedding by facilitating energy projects that will generate 720 megawatts of electricity. Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Han, assured that once these projects are fully operational, Zambia will benefit from a stable and sustainable energy supply.
In addition to the 720 megawatts initiative, China will support rooftop solar installations, though these will be separate from the primary energy projects. Ambassador Han emphasized China’s dedication to resolving Zambia’s ongoing energy crisis.
He also praised Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, highlighting the strong relationship between the two nations. Several key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the talks, further reinforcing bilateral cooperation.
