Just a few days after the Zambian football community lost veteran administrator Hanif Adams, the rallying community is in mourning following the death of Azim Ticklay, a revered figure in the sport.
Ticklay, fondly known to many as Sekulu, passed away at the Maina Soko Military Hospital in Lusaka at the age of 64. His passing has left a deep sense of loss among fans and colleagues.
Farook Ticklay, his son and a prominent rally driver, confirmed the news with great emotion. “It’s hard to choose a single cherished memory of him right now, as there are so many. He was known for his love, compassion, and kindness, and he made a significant impact on everyone he met.”
Funeral arrangements are in progress, with a gathering expected to take place later this evening.
Azim Ticklay leaves behind a distinguished career in rally driving that spanned over two decades.
