The MEDEVAC Medical Humanitarian Program from the Czech Republic has successfully performed 43 complex surgeries at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) – Adult Hospital.
From September 12 to 20, 2024, the team of doctors conducted surgeries on challenging cases, including Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) and head and neck conditions, as reported by UTH-Adult Hospital Public Relations Officer Nzeba Chanda.
Dr. John Kachimba, Senior Medical Superintendent at UTH-Adult Hospital, praised the Czech team for their collaboration with Zambian medical professionals, highlighting their compassionate approach that contributed to the surgeries’ success.
“The friendship and teamwork displayed during these operations symbolize hope for patients and their families,” Dr. Kachimba noted, expressing eagerness for future surgical collaborations.
Dr. Cada, Head of Mission for the MEDEVAC Medical Humanitarian Program, thanked both teams for their effective partnership, which facilitated the successful outcomes of the surgeries.
Additionally, UTH-Adult Hospital ENT Consultant Dr. Alex Malambo commended the joint efforts that led to the successful procedures and called for enhanced collaboration in future initiatives.
