The Zambia Air Force (ZAF) has honored its commitment to construct a new home for Esnart Haachintu Moonga of Siamikobo Village in Chikankata District, following an incident where a ZAF helicopter damaged her house on September 7, 2024.
On Sunday, September 29, 2024, Brig Gen Simon M. Tembo, Chief of Medical Services, presented the newly built three-room house, along with a wheelchair, chitenge material, groceries, and toiletries, on behalf of ZAF Commander Lt Gen Oscar Msitu Nyoni.
Brig Gen Tembo emphasized that this gesture reflects ZAF’s core values of compassion and community service, stating that the house symbolizes hope, comfort, and security for Ms. Moonga, whose life was disrupted by the damage.
Chikankata Member of Parliament Hon Jacqueline Sabao praised the swift response from ZAF, highlighting that the new home stands as a testament to community support and the government’s dedication to restoring what was lost.
Ms. Moonga’s daughter, Joyce Makuna, expressed heartfelt gratitude to both ZAF and the Zambian government for their significant support during this challenging time.
