The Department of Social Welfare is actively assisting vulnerable families in Shibuyunji District through its Social Cash Transfer and Emergency Cash Transfer programs.
Currently, 6,807 individuals are benefiting from the Social Cash Transfer, while 3,923 are enrolled in the Emergency Cash Transfer initiative, with support reaching most wards in the district.
To ensure all beneficiaries receive their payments, the team is utilizing both rural and urban payment systems. Each recipient of the Emergency Cash Transfer receives 800 kwacha bi-monthly, while Social Cash Transfer beneficiaries also receive 800 kwacha. Additionally, those living with severe disabilities receive 1,200 kwacha bi-monthly, totaling 815 beneficiaries.
This financial assistance is crucial for families to meet their basic needs and navigate challenging times, especially as drought conditions persist in the area. The program continues to serve as a vital lifeline for those in Shibuyunji.
