ZESCO has officially connected its first customer to the Net Metering system in Chilenje, Lusaka, marking a significant milestone for the company and its customers. The connection was successfully completed on October 9, 2024, enabling the customer to become a “Prosumer,” capable of generating their own power and exporting surplus electricity back to the ZESCO grid.
This development represents a major step towards a more sustainable energy future, allowing customers to harness renewable energy for personal use while contributing to the national grid. As ZESCO celebrates Customer Service Week, this achievement underscores the company’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that empower its customers.
