Must read

Is it that Zambia Police can’t tell when they are being baited or what? Time and again, they have given relevance to political and social troublemakers.

Instead of ignoring their useless antics, the police are busy falling over themselves barricading buildings and other premises.

Take today’s so-called requiem mass for the tenth memorial of the late President Michael Sata held against basic wisdom by a faction of the party he founded but is now in shambles. That would have passed with little attention had the police not decided to make a meal out of it.

Please, ZP, learn to give Zambians some credit. Most citizens are right-thinking individuals with fully developed mental capabilities and the agency to distinguish sense from nonsense. Let those clamoring for relevance grind themselves to a halt. You don’t need to help them because, trust me, you are doing right the opposite.

The state event is the most important. People can hold as many private events as they want to remember our fifth president without ZP barging into their events or trying to stop them. This is not even about freedom and rights or whatever. It’s about reading the politricks and being smart about it.

We are tired of these things and have said over and over and over that it’s not a good look and reflects very poorly on the Executive.

Ba IG, please stop this!
