The Zambia National Service (ZNS) has pledged to assist the Zambia Information and Communication Technology Agency (ZICTA) in tackling the issue of fake Facebook accounts.
This commitment was announced following a courtesy visit from ZICTA to ZNS Commander, Lieutenant General Engineer Maliti Solochi. During the meeting, Lt. Gen. Solochi acknowledged the harmful effects of fake accounts on individuals’ reputations and public safety, reinforcing ZNS’s dedication to addressing fraudulent online activities.
He assured ZICTA that the ZNS will take firm action against those engaging in online fraud.
ZICTA’s acting Director General, Engineer Collins Mbulo, proposed collaborative cybersecurity training programs with ZNS to enhance knowledge sharing. He emphasized the increasing cyber threats faced by national leaders and the necessity for stronger cooperation between the two agencies to bolster national cybersecurity efforts.
