The Zambia Statistics Agency (ZAMSTATS) has a new board of directors headed by Oliver Chinganya.
The Minister of Finance, Situmbeko Musokotwane appointed a 9-member board announced by the Secretary to the Treasury yesterday.
Chinganya, whose tenure took effect on October 31, is the outgoing director of the Africa Center for Statistics and the Chief Statistician for the UN’s Economic Commission for Africa.
Other members of the board include former minister Eustarkio Kazonga, now a University of Zambia professor, and three other UNZA brains.
Congratulating the new team, Musokotwane urged the board to help management in advancing innovation, collaboration, and capacity building in the statistical field to enable the continued provision of accurate and timely data crucial to the country’s progress.
