The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has distributed GPS tracking device vests to all Zambian Premier League clubs and the national teams.
FAZ President Andrew Kamanga launched the distribution of 900 GPS tracking devices this morning at the Golden Peacock Hotel in Lusaka.
Speaking at the launch today, Kamanga said that the project to introduce GPS equipment is part of the FAZ program to improve player performances and expose coaches to modern football technology.
“This initiative is not just about introducing cutting-edge technology, it is about transforming the way we approach football development in our country. It is about harnessing innovation to empower our teams, our coaches, and most importantly, our players, as they strive to compete at the highest levels locally and internationally,” he said.
Each Super League club and national team is expected to be handed a set of 25 GPS tracking vests, which have been procured through the
Contract of Agreed Objectives with FIFA.
GPS tracking devices are used to track player performance, distance covered, speed, and other metrics during training and matches.
