Govt Will Not ‘Show Off’ Support to Dandy Krazy’s Family — Nkandu

Must read

Government has committed to extending its support to late Zambian music icon Wesley Chibambo’s (Dandy Krazy) widow and children, Minister of Sports, Youth & Arts Elvis Nkandu has affirmed.

However, Nkandu says government will not parade in public how it intends to help the bereaved family as it is against Zambian tradition and culture.

“Tradition demands that when you give, especially to those that are bereaved, do not let them acknowledge what you have done. As government we don’t want to show off, we are going to do the needful as we discussed with the wife (Dandy Krazy’s widow) and B-Flow,” Nkandu said.

Nkandu went on to encourage other well-wishers to offer their help to those in need unconditionally and not for the sake of gaining public attention.

“My advice to the Zambian people is that when you donate anything at a funeral house don’t go on social media because even the Bible teaches us that when you give with this hand, don’t let the other hand know what you have given out,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nkandu has reiterated government’s pledge to fully support the bereaved family of the late multi-hit song maker.

“We know Dandy Krazy has left a widow and children and we are going to make sure that we sit down and see how best government can intervene to make sure that lives of the children to some extent are not so difficult,” he added.

Wesley Chibambo, popularly known as Dandy Krazy, was buried yesterday in Lusaka following his tragic death last Thursday days after he was involved in a fatal road traffic accident which also claimed the live of four other people.
