Chipolopolo star Patson Daka says he is eager and capitalizing on the chance to learn from legendary former Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, the current manager at his club Leicester City.
Speaking in an interview with the Foxes’ official website, the 26-year old Zambian international has described being under the tutelage of van Nistelrooy as a rare privilege.
“He has played at a high level for a long time and he understands the game a lot better than I do so I just try my best to ask questions and learn as much as I can. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be managed by one of the greats so I’m trying to make the most of that,” Daka has told lcfc.com in an interview.
Daka further praised the former Manchester United great’s personality and impact in the Foxes’ dressing room since taking charge back in November, 2024.
“He’s a great person, he’s a great manager and we’re all just trying to give our best for him. He’s doing the same; he’s making sure that he’s improving us every day and everyone is excited to work every day to make sure we give our best for the team,” Daka said.
Meanwhile, ahead of tomorrow’s encounter against QPR, Daka says the Foxes are eager to build on their confidence having endured an underwhelming season so far in the Premier League.
“We need this game to try to help us get back our full confidence by getting back to winning ways. It’s not going to be easy and we need to take the game seriously as it will be tough. We need to make sure it’s one that boosts our confidence,” he said.
Daka is in contention to start for the Foxes as they host QPR at the King Power Stadium in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.
