Water Shortage Disrupts Lusambo’s Case

Must read

The Lusaka Subordinate Court was forced to postpone several cases yesterday (Wednesday) due to a water shortage, which affected sanitation and overall court operations.

Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili acknowledged the issue, assuring those present that steps were being taken to resolve it.

The water crisis impacted high-profile cases, including that of former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo, who is facing charges of possessing tainted properties.

When his case was called for continued cross-examination, his lawyers, Makebi Zulu and Charles Changano, requested an adjournment, citing poor conditions in the holding cells.

The prosecution did not oppose the request, and Magistrate Chibwili granted the adjournment, acknowledging the need for proper court conditions.

Faction PF Secretary General Raphael Nakacinda was seen with his lawyers leaving the court premises, and he indicated that his seditious case could not proceed due to the water shortage.
