Ivorian striker Freddy Michael Kouablan returned to Choma to haunt his former side Green Eagles after scoring the only goal to give Zesco United a vital 1-0 win this afternoon at the Independence Stadium in an MTN Super League Week 21 fixture.
Kouablan who left Eagles as Super League top scorer to join Simba SC of Tanzania barely a year ago, secured the important goal to send Zesco back to the summit of the Super League table.
The Ivorian striker punished Eagles in the 54th minute with an expertly taken finish from close range to propel the nine-time league champions to victory.
Zesco now sit at the summit of the Super League table with 39 points and have a two-point advantage over second placed Kabwe Warriors.
Meanwhile, Zanaco have moved out of the relegation zone after a resounding 4-1 win over Green Buffaloes at Woodlands Stadium today.
