President Hakainde Hichilema is today visiting Mumbwa District on a one-day working visit, during which he will inspect several agricultural activities, particularly the agro-processing and agricultural machinery facilities.
Central Province Permanent Secretary Dr. Milner Mwanakampwe confirmed the Head of State’s visit to Mumbwa during a press briefing held at his office on Monday.
“The purpose of this visit is to interact with the people of Mumbwa and, specifically, he will be visiting one farm to appreciate the mechanization and agro-processing that happens there.”
Mwanakampwe added that President Hichilema’s visit to the district was a testament to the government’s commitment to promoting the country’s agricultural sector industrialization.
“We may wish to know that this government has placed a very high premium on agriculture, agro-processing and value addition of agricultural produce,” he said.
President Hichilema is also expected to meet traditional leaders in the district and interact with members of the public.
