President Hakainde Hichilema has this afternoon welcomed His Excellency Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi, and his delegation. Burundi, Zambia’s eighth neighbor, plays a significant role as an export destination, particularly through maritime routes via Lake Tanganyika.
The two nations maintain a strong relationship, which is continually bolstered by reciprocal high-level visits. President Ndayishimiye will be the guest of honour at the 96th Agricultural and Commercial Show in Lusaka, underscoring the ongoing collaboration between the two countries.
