Adrian Kashala, former General Secretary of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), has declared his intention to run for the presidency of the association in next year’s elective Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Current FAZ President Andrew Kamanga will face competition for the presidency after nearly a decade in office.
Kashala, who previously served as Kamanga’s close aide, aims to unite football stakeholders and provide solutions to advance and enhance Zambian football.
“As members of the association, we are all working towards the same goal: the development and growth of football in Zambia for the benefit of everyone involved. This can only be achieved if we work together and pull in the same direction,” Kashala stated.
He highlighted his plans and stressed the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to restore the sport’s former glory if elected.
“While we may compete fiercely on the pitch, we must foster a spirit of cooperation off it to achieve our common goals and objectives. By working together, we can accomplish much more.
We need to embrace the motto ‘Strive to Unite Zambian Football’ to build a better future for everyone in the association,” Kashala added.
Kashala served as FAZ Secretary General from 2016, initially as Deputy before being promoted to the role in 2018. He resigned in February 2023.
