The Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) has indefinitely suspended the GCE Examination Centre status for eight schools and nullified their examination results.
The affected centres include Isoko GCE Centre in Mpulungu District, Mapunga GCE Centre and Kasapa Day Secondary GCE in Mushindamo District, Sefula GCE in Mongu District, Chitimukulu Secondary GCE in Lusaka District, Gesam Secondary GCE and Bethlehem Secondary GCE in Chilanga District, and Mukupa Kaoma Day Secondary GCE in Lunte District. The nullifications impact a total of 3,824 candidates.
In a statement, ECZ Public Relations Manager Mr. Nicolas Nkhuwa emphasized that all examination centres must adhere to the guidelines for examination management to prevent malpractices. Centres failing to comply face the risk of losing their accreditation. The eight suspended centres will not conduct examinations until further notice.
ECZ warns that it will take stern action against any instances of examination malpractice.
