Zambia’s Chief Justice Dr. Mumba Malila has received the appropriate treatment and is responding very well to treatment, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary – Technical Services Dr. Kennedy Lishimpi has said.
In his statement updating the nation on Malila’s health today, Lishimpi said the Chief Justice underwent his review in South Africa today, having already received the appropriate treatment there.
Malila was involved in a road traffic accident on August 30 and sustained injuries for which he was evacuated to South Africa to receive further treatment after being hospitalized and treated in Zambia immediately after the accident.
Lishimpi said Malila’s driver, Newton Njovu, was also evacuated and has had no complaints nor injuries. “He was found to have had no complaints and had no injuries on the material day and to date, he has been complaint-free. He is alive and well.”
Philemon Dyamini, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident, is adjudged to have been at fault. He has been charged with dangerous driving and is out on police bond awaiting his court appearance.
