A Zambia-China Solar Joint Centre is set to be built at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), aimed at equipping young people with vital skills for Zambia’s green energy transition. NIPA’s Acting Chief Executive Director, Elliot Mumba, announced that the construction follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed with LONGi Solar Technology and Sino Green Technology during a meeting with a Chinese delegation in Lusaka.

LONGi’s Head of Africa, Bright Sun, stated that access to clean energy is a fundamental human right and emphasized that sustainable energy solutions can be achieved through collaboration. Meanwhile, Sino Green Technology Chairman Andy Liu expressed confidence in the partnership and committed to assisting graduates from the centre in finding employment within the solar industry.

Davies Chinkusu, CEO of Kafue Gorge Regional Training Center, indicated that the centre is prepared to collaborate with partners to further enhance local capacity building. This message was conveyed by Marketing and Business Development Manager Nchimuya Mayinga on behalf of Chinkusu.
