More Legal Trouble for Lusambo

Must read

In yet another legal twist for jailed former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo, Zambezi East Member of Parliament Brian Kambita has taken him to court, demanding a refund of K850,000 after a botched property transaction.

The lawsuit, filed in the Lusaka High Court, paints a picture of a real estate deal gone awry.

Kambita claims he fully paid for a property located in Lusaka’s subdivision A288 of lot no. 28473/M but has received neither the property title nor possession.

According to the court documents, the two parties entered into a sale agreement on August 23, 2024.

The contract stipulated that Kambita would pay K850,000, with an initial K400,000 due at signing and the remaining K450,000 within 30 days.

Lusambo would transfer the title to Kambita within two weeks of receiving the full payment.

Lusambo was also required to hand over vacant possession of the property upon the initial payment.

Kambita states that he met all his obligations, including making the final payment on September 12, 2024.

Lusambo allegedly failed to transfer the property title nor did he hand over possession, therefore, breaching the agreement.

Frustrated by Lusambo’s failure to honor the deal, Kambita is now seeking a declaration that Lusambo breached the contract.

He wants a refund of the K850,000 paid and damages for breach of contract, interest and legal costs.
