The Zambia Chinese Association (ZCA) is funding the repair and rehabilitation of the 1.1-kilometer stretch of road between the Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) and the area where the Chinese medical team resides.
Speaking during the road’s groundbreaking ceremony at (LMMU) today, ZCA president Zhang Jian described the road as crucial for the Chinese medical team that provides assistance to the Levy Mwanawasa Hospital.
Jian undertook to successfully complete the transformation of the China-Zambia Friendship Avenue and to equally transform the whole surrounding area.
The ZCA has also announced a 20-year undertaking to donate 2,500 trees annually to the Lusaka City Council.
Jian said the ZCA will adorn the sides of the road with greenery and flowers. Solar streetlights will also be installed. The area will also have a garden park and benches for sitting.
The development will enhance the place’s aesthetics and accessibility.
