For the second time in as many weeks, lawmaker Emmanuel Jay Banda, the victim of an alleged kidnapping two weeks ago, has taken ill while being questioned by the police.
According to the police spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, Banda was discharged from Maina Soko Military Hospital this afternoon and was escorted by police officers to Twin Palm police station to be interviewed regarding the ongoing investigations in the presence of his legal counsel.
“During the course of the interview, Honorable Banda developed a medical condition that necessitated immediate medical attention,” said Hamoonga.
Police officers “promptly” transported him back to the hospital, and he was fully conscious upon his arrival at the hospital, where he continues to receive medical attention.
It is the second time that Banda has fallen ill during a police interview despite just having been discharged prior to the police visit.
