….Chitoshi Chinga Spells Kalampa’s Ambitions in 2024/25 Season

Record Zambian Super League winner, Nkana Football Club has staked its ambitions for the 2024/25 season.

According to defender Chitoshi Chinga, Kalampa is aiming high and dreaming big, setting its sights on claiming a 15th league title and playing in the CAF Champions League this coming season.

Kalampa, who have not won any silverware the last four years, narrowly survived relegation last season and finished in ninth place.

Chinga, who joined the club from Forest Rangers in January, played a crucial role in the legendary club surviving relegation after a troubled campaign.

Speaking in an interview with Zambian Digest at the end of his side’s troubled 2023/24 campaign, the former Real Nakonde and Lumwana Radiants man described the just-ended season as challenging.

“I would describe it as one of the most challenging seasons for me because I had to move from Forest to Nkana, which was in the red zone at the time, but we thank God we pushed through,” Chinga said.

The central defender-cum-midfielder settled well with the Kitwe giants in the second half of the season after his brave move to leave a Forest side in the top half of the league table for a relegation-threatened Kalampa side.

Chinga revealed that despite the club’s situation then, he did not think twice about joining the record Zambian champions when they expressed interest in his services.

“Nkana is a very big club and everyone wants to play for this club, so when they needed my services I couldn’t refuse and you know they say you have to move away from your comfort zone for you to achieve your goals,” he said.

Kalampa will kick-off their 2024/25 Super League campaign with a home fixture against newly-promoted Lumwana Radiants.
