Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the upcoming presidential election. Walz, who has served as governor and was previously a high school teacher, will be the vice-presidential candidate if Harris prevails over Donald Trump in November.
Walz has recently garnered national attention for his straightforward approach, including his use of the term “weird” to describe Trump and JD Vance, a phrase Harris has now adopted in her own campaign rhetoric.
The Harris campaign is banking on Walz’s relatable, small-town Midwestern demeanor to resonate with independent and conservative voters.
In response, the Trump-Vance campaign has labeled Walz as a “dangerously liberal extremist.” Harris is set to formally introduce Walz as her running mate at a rally in Philadelphia tonight, after which they will embark on a tour of critical battleground states.
