The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has scheduled four by-elections to take place on September 19, 2024, in Kawambwa, Kabwe, Mwansabombwe, and Zimba Districts.
These include a Council Chairperson by-election in Kawambwa District of Luapula Province, as well as three ward by-elections in Lukanga Ward of Kabwe District in Central Province, Kabalenga Ward in Mwansabombwe District of Luapula Province, and Chidi Ward of Zimba District in Southern Province.
In a statement released on Wednesday, ECZ’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Patricia Luhanga, announced that the nomination period for the by-elections has been scheduled for August 20, 2024.
