Mr. Mutati noted that experts are currently testing the station as preparations move into the next phase. He emphasized the satellite’s potential benefits for agriculture, forestry, groundwater management, and weather prediction, aiming to mitigate climate change effects like drought.
In a separate engagement in Lusaka West, Mr. Mutati highlighted the significant impact of the US$1 billion investment by Wonderful Group of Companies in its fertilizer and tile operations, which has generated substantial employment in Lusaka. He commended the investment as a testament to the government’s effective policies and reiterated the commitment to fostering a supportive environment for private sector growth.
Mr. Mutati also encouraged Wonderful Group of Companies to collaborate with the Ministry to enhance youth skills for the World Skills Africa Competition, set to take place in Livingstone in April 2025.
Wonderful Group of Companies Deputy Chief Executive Officer Roy Mwamba revealed plans to recruit 400 chemical engineers for upcoming ammonium nitrate and urea plants, with operations expected to commence in 2026.
