Former minister and lawmaker Chishimba Kambwili has lost two brothers—Mutale and Mwamba—in a road traffic accident in an area called Lubushi in Northern Province.
The Kambwilis were en route to Kasama yesterday for Chishimba Kambwili’s court hearing scheduled for Wednesday, 16 October, when the accident happened. This is the third road accident the formerly controversial politician has been involved in during his political career. The first occurred in 2017 and the second in 2022.
Kambwili and the driver of the vehicle survived the accident and were admitted to Munkonge mini hospital.
Earlier this year, Kambwili’s health deteriorated prompting the government to evacuate him to South Africa for medical treatment. He’s rarely heard from publicly since his return.
