…As they accompany President’s entourage in Mazabuka
Former Minister of Health in the PF government Dr. Chitalu Chilufya and PF Mafinga member of parliament Robert Chabinga have hailed President Hakainde Hichilema for uniting the country.
The duo, accompanying Hichilema in Mazabuka today, spoke separately but delivered a common message of unity and the need for politicians and citizens to shed political division.
Addressing the audience, Chilufya said, “As we celebrate the 60th year of our independence it is important that we reaffirm our commitment to our oneness as a unitary state and that is the reason I’m pleased to be part of the presidential entourage to reaffirm that we are one people.”
“We are very grateful to you, Mr. President for the opportunity to unite all of us and to show that we are one people.”
On his part, Chabinga, who recently declared himself President Hichilema’s campaign manager, said despite the President not enjoying support from Muchinga Province—where his Mafinga Constituency is located—in the last elections, he has been delivering development to the province.
“President Hichilema did not have any single seat for members of parliament in Muchinga Province, neither did he win the votes in Muchinga Province but the truth of the matter is that immediately he won the elections, his first stance was to unite this country,” stated Chabinga.
He said Hichilema had been very smart and methodical in uniting the country and further urged citizens to understand that while things are currently tough, Hichilema found the economy “in the mortuary” but has managed to revamp the country and was very hard working.
