Stardy Mwale Faces Arrest Over Court Absence

Must read

Lusaka Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili has ordered former Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Stardy Mwale to appear in court today or face arrest. Mwale, who has reportedly been unwell, has been instructed to present himself in court to avoid further legal consequences.

The court also directed that the medical personnel who attended to Mwale must appear to verify the authenticity of his sick note. Magistrate Chibwili warned that failure to do so would result in the issuance of a bench warrant for their arrest.

Mwale, whose recent viral audio attacking former Cabinet Minister Chishimba Kambwili has sparked public attention, is among six individuals facing charges related to the alleged procurement misconduct concerning the Gulfstream G650 Presidential jet. The other accused are Isabel Wilima Chinji, Michael Obister Mbewe, Evaristo Sakala, Frank Hardy Sinyangwe, and John Phiri.
