The Chipolopolo has significantly improved its FIFA ranking following the team’s success in the just-concluded AFCON qualifiers.
The Zambia national team has gained seven notches on the latest Coca-Cola FIFA rankings released for November.
According to the rankings released today, Chipolopolo is now placed 84th from 97th in the world and moves into 18th place in Africa, in what is its best rankings so far this year.
Meanwhile, Morocco continues to lead the rankings on the continent, with world champions Argentina on top of the list globally.
Avram Grant’s Chipolopolo has made the gains following back-to-back victories over African champions Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone in the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Chipolopolo beat the Elephants of Ivory Coast 1-0 in Ndola to secure qualification for the AFCON with a match to spare before edging Sierra Leone 2-0 away in Monrovia this month.
