Chipolopolo midfielder Kings Kangwa is enjoying a blistering season in Israel where he has been nominated for the league’s best player of the season so far.
The 25-year-old was on the score sheet last night for the second consecutive game for his club Hapoel Be’er Sheva who rallied to a resounding 4-1 win over Beitar Jerusalem in a Israeli Ligat ha’Al encounter.
Kangwa opened the floodgates at the Turner Stadium in the 4th minute for Be’er Sheva who ran riot as they scored three more times before the half-time break.
The Chipolopolo star put in an outstanding shift for The Red Camels until the 68th minute when he was withdrawn by coach Ran Kozuch.
After scoring last night, Kangwa now has 4 goals and 4 assists in just 13 matches in his debut season for Be’er Sheva whom he joined from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade following a successful loan spell in Belgium with KV Kortrijk.
His fine performances for Be’er Sheva this season have also earned him nomination for the Ligat ha’Al Player of the Season for the first round of the campaign.
Meanwhile, Be’er Sheva has finished the first round of the 2024/25 Ligat ha’Al at the summit of the league table with 30 points and a three point advantage over second placed Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
