Must read

The Ministry of Education has disclosed that no cases of examination question paper leakages were recorded during the 2024 Grade 12 School Certificate examinations.

Earlier today, Minister of Education Dr. Douglas Syakalima officially released the results for the School Certificate exams, with 115,532 out of a total of 169,464 candidates obtaining school certificates, representing a percentage of 68.17% and an improvement of 0.14% compared to 2023.

Dr. Syakalima further disclosed that no examination question papers were leaked during the exams, while only 107 cases of suspected examination malpractices were recorded, with the results of the involved candidates withheld by the Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) as investigations continue.

“I’m glad to report that once again there were no leakages of examination question papers during the conduct of the 2024 School Certificate and Teacher Education examinations,” Dr. Syakalima said.

The minister further applauded the staff at the Ministry of Education and ECZ for conducting a successful examination exercise in 2024.

“I wish to acknowledge and commend the rare effort and hard work of all members of staff in the Ministry of Education and the Examinations Council of Zambia who worked tirelessly to ensure that the examinations were well conducted, answer strips were marked, and the results were processed in a timely manner,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Syakalima has encouraged candidates who have failed to obtain School Certificates to re-enter for the 2025 examination, with registration open until February.

“Candidates who have not performed well should take advantage of the ongoing registration for the 2025 General Certificate examination,” he said.
