MTN Super League side Zanaco are set to reinforce their striking force with the acquisition of striker Lambert Gueme Araina from Cameroon.
Sensational who are preparing for the 2024/25 season, have advanced in their move to sign the 25-year old striker who has previously earned a call up to the national team, the Indomitable Lions.
Gueme arrived in Lusaka on Thursday from Cameroon as he prepares to pen a two-year contract with the seven-time Zambian champions.
“He arrived today (Thursday). We went to get him from the airport and he will do medicals first before going to sign then finally start training. That is the program for him” a source at Zanaco revealed to Zambia Digest.
Araina will be looking to replicate his fine record against Zambian opposition having scored 3 goals against Super League sides, Napsa Stars and Green Eagles while on the books of Coton Sport in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The lanky marksman will join the Bankers as a free agent having recently parted ways with Ghaz Al-Shamal SC of Iraq.
He shot to stardom on the continent in the 2021/22 season as he emerged top scorer in the Confederation Cup with seven goals and 25 goals in the Cameroonian top-flight with Coton Sport thus earning a move to Moroccan giants ASFAR.
