President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed his delight following bilateral discussions with Mr. Moataz Anwar, the outgoing Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Zambia.
In a statement, President Hichilema emphasized Zambia’s pride in its longstanding relationship with Egypt, highlighting the partnership that has developed since Zambia’s independence. He noted the country’s interest in learning from Egypt’s innovative water management systems, particularly regarding the efficient transportation of water to agricultural areas and communities.
The President pointed out the synergy between Zambia’s successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in road infrastructure and Egypt’s approach to development. He extended an invitation to Egyptian companies to engage in PPPs for water harvesting, dam construction, and canal development in Zambia.
Additionally, President Hichilema acknowledged Egypt’s support during Zambia’s tenure as Chair of COMESA and praised the ongoing cooperation in health and medicine, expressing hopes for further collaboration.
He concluded by wishing Ambassador Anwar success in his future endeavours.
